In today’s world with the enormous capacity of modern computers, the task of calculating what is and what is not sustainable is indeed a simplicity. These calculations or equations however require inputs from human beings, or other equations, which would again depend on the input of the data that can (usually) only be supplied by humans.
Thus, there is the simplicity that it is vital for human beings to work on and supply the pertinent and accurate data required by computers to accurately expose what human actions and activities are sustainable for future generations and indeed humanity in its current state. When looking closely at by far the greatest majority of individual in western societies however, there are extremely few, if any, individuals who place sustainability of ‘US’, instead of ME, on a scale of any significance compared to the emphasis placed of sustainability of ‘ME, or MY’.
